David Self, PT, DPT, OCS
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Athletic Training from Central Washington University. I also have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University.
Special Certifications and Continuing Education
I have continued my post-graduate education by receiving my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the Ola Grimsby Institute. My doctoral dissertation investigates the effectiveness of resisted exercise on improving strength in the lumbar spine. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
In the Practice
I have been working in the field of sports medicine and physical therapy for nearly 20 years. I gained invaluable experience in sports injury management while working with the Seattle Seahawks. I’ve also worked as the head athletic trainer for Juanita High School and the Seattle Sounders Select Soccer Club. In addition to specializing in sports and spine injuries, I have a great deal of experience with running gait analysis.
Family and Community
My personal interests include running, cycling, backpacking, skiing and coaching my three children in their sports. I volunteer on the Magnolia Soccer Club board and with Boy Scout Troop 80.
